Pensions – Temporary Staffing
As part of our Auto enrolment employer responsibilities, you will be auto enrolled into a workplace pension.
Under the rules of the NHS Pension Scheme you can only pay into the scheme up to the equivalent of one full time post. This means that if you are already working full time for King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust you will not be eligible to pay into the NHS Pension Scheme on your bank post.
If you are working part time on your main post with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust you will see pension contributions deducted from your bank post pay, as you can be pensionable up to one full time post.
If you do not want to be in the NHS Pension Scheme the o only way to leave the NHS Pension Scheme is to complete an Application to leave the NHS Pension Scheme which can be downloaded from the NHS Pensions website Leaving or taking a break from the scheme | NHSBSA
Please read this form very carefully before completing it. Should you still wish to leave the scheme you will need to complete page 3 and return the form to the KCH Pensions team ensuring that you included your 8 digit assignment number (this can be found on your payslip), signed and dated the form by hand.
We will accept a scanned pdf. of your completed form or alternatively you can drop your form into the pensions post box which is located in the On boarding centre, Jennie Lee House at the Denmark Hill site.
You will be taken out of the NHS Pension Scheme from the next available pay run which is usually the within a fortnight following receipt of the signed and dated form.
Please note that you may be automatically re-enrolled into the NHS Pension Scheme if eligible, when the Trust runs it triennial re-enrolment process (every 3 years).
If you have less than 2 years pensionable service in the NHS when you leave the scheme you may be able to apply for a refund of your pension contributions, less the applicable State scheme deductions. To apply for a refund you must complete an Application for a Refund of Pension contributions, which can be downloaded from the NHS Pensions website Leaving or taking a break from the scheme | NHSBSA
Again you we will accept a scanned pdf. of your completed form or alternatively you can drop your form into the pensions post box which is located in the On boarding centre, Jennie Lee House at the Denmark Hill site.
Please note that your refund of contributions can take up to 6 weeks for NHS Pensions to process and deposit into your nominated bank account.
