Training Requirement
Local Induction
All clinical staff (permanent, honorary and temporary staff) are to be made aware of local infection control policies and procedures. This is to be documented by using local induction checklists. (Extract from Infection Prevention and Control policy)
Infection Control Recall Training – clinical staff
All staff with clinical responsibilities are required to undertake annual recall training. This training can be done either by attending a face-to-face teaching session, delivered by a member of the infection control team, or by completing the e-learning programme. Evidence of having done so must be presented to the manager of the staff member concerned as part of the annual appraisal process. This should be recorded using KSF or on appropriate appraisal documentation. (Extract from Infection Prevention and Control policy)
Infection Control Training – non-clinical staff
All non-clinical staff who have regular access to departments where patient care is delivered, or staff with responsibility for delivering this policy (i.e. divisional management teams) are required to undertake recall training in line with The Statutory and Mandatory Training Policy and by completing the elearning package. (Extract from Infection Prevention and Control policy)
ICT Multimedia Training Library
The Infection Prevention and Control Team in collaboration with the Trust Multimedia Team has set up a range of video trainings. After these short videos clips are viewed you will be provided with a five digits code. These codes need to be submitted so that the system generates reports that will be used to update your learning record on the Trust database.
The following training is now available from the ICT Multimedia Training Library.
